Tweederde Zweeds huishoudelijk afval verkeerd gesorteerd

Only about one-third of household waste is correctively sorted for recycling, according to a report published by Avfallsverige, the Swedish waste industry association. The analysis comes from a random sampling of curbside waste and recycling across the country. Most of the recyclable materials incorrectly placed curbside as trash were food waste, packaging waste and waste paper.
The survey found households living in single family homes were more accurate in waste sorting than apartment dwellers. For example, 73 percent of food waste from single family homes was correctly sorted, compared with 47 percent for apartment homes (Recycling Laws Update Bulletin 9 januari).
