Belangrijke rol bio-economie voor EU banen- en groeiagenda

The EC expert group on bio-based products has published a report containing 9 guiding principles and 8 policy recommendations for jobs and growth through bio-based products. The recommendations include: Coordinate bioeconomy within overall EU policy framework and full revision of the bioeconomy strategy; Further improve access to financing for investments in biorefinery projects; Enable sustainability assessment of (bio-based) products; Apply standards and labels for better evaluation by purchasers.
The bioeconomy is already worth over €2.2 trillion while providing over 18 million jobs. It is a key contributor to the EU jobs and growth agenda (Nieuwsbericht Europese Commissie, 15 november 2017).
