CH: Parlement trekt regelgeving verbod plastic zakken in

In 2012, the Swiss Parliament voted to ban the distribution of single-use plastic bags. But on 22 September 2016, it announced it is waiving the ban and replacing it with an agreement with retailers to begin charging fees for single-use plastic bags. The policy change will be in place no later than January 2018.
According to the Swiss Parliament and two industry organizations the policy change will still allow Switzerland to comply with the requirements in EU Directive 2015/720, which amends the Directive on Packaging and Packaging Waste by requiring all Member States and EEA countries to reduce single-use plastic bag consumption (Recycling Laws International, 22 oktober 2016).
