In a new report published in October 2017, Smithers Pira identifies how the market for industrial packaging will be worth $52.7 billion in 2017 and 14.6 million tonnes. It will see steady growth at 3.9% per year across 2017-2022, pushing total market value to $61.8 billion in 2022, with volume consumption growing more slowly to reach 16.6 million tonnes in the same year.
As the market evolves there will be internal shifts, such as the wider use of intermediate bulk containers and above average demand from key end-use applications, like chemicals & pharmaceuticals.
