Denemarken breidt statiegeldsysteem uit met fruitsapflessen

The Danish government is expanding the deposit system to also include bottles for fruit juices and fruit concentrates. From 1 January 2020 these bottles can be returned along with other deposit-marked bottles.
In addition to improving recycling, the expansion of the deposit system is expected to decrease waste thrown in nature when juice and concentrate bottles are added a cash value. The expansion of the deposit system is estimated to increase recycled packaging within the deposit system by 4-5%. Introducing deposits on these bottles is the first of a number of initiatives in an upcoming national plastic action plan (Nieuwsbericht Ministry of Environment and Food of Denmark, 27 juni 2018).
