Proefschrift Design for All: Gebruik van Expancel voor betere grip voor verpakkingen

Using a material for better grip in packaging is not a known area of usage. For her Master thesis at Mid Sweden University Johanna Henriksson aimed to increase the interaction regarding use, communication and experience in packaging using Akzo Nobels Expancel. Expancel is a concept with expanding microspheres. The microspheres are small spherical particles that, depending on factors like heat, expand around 64 times the original starting volume.
Johanna used Expancel to create high friction surfaces. The target group was people who shop for grocery products. With help from users with reduced hand function and vision problems the concept was developed to fit as many people as possible.
