Deloitte predicts that the number of European Click and Collect locations will reach 500,000 in 2015. The key friction point of e-commerce is delivery, where each organisational department seek to optimise. In the UK alone, over a billion dollars is spent per year on failed first-time deliveries. Click and Collect, where products can be delivered to another physical location, offers the best of both consumer travel and B2C delivery.
The growth of the Click and Collect delivery models is reshaping the traditional retailing model. Retailers must now consider how to implement and structure the financial, logistical, behavioural and legal aspects of their potential Click and Collect system.
