US: wetsvoorstel senaat voor waarschuwingsetikettering BPA
On March 19, US Senator Diane Feinstein introduced a bill in Congress that would require warning labels on food containers that have bisphenol A (BPA) present. The warning label would state, “This food packaging contains BPA, an endocrine-disrupting chemical, according to the National Institutes of Health.”
S.821 would also require the Secretary of Health and Human Services to issue a revised safety standard assessment for BPA to determine “whether there is a reasonable certainty that no harm will result from aggregate exposure to bisphenol A through food containers or other items composed, in whole or in part, of bisphenol A.” (State Recycling Laws Update, 30 maart 2015).
