Wageningen UR: publication ‘Green building blocks for biobased plastics’ now available in English

The publication ‘Green building blocks for biobased plastics,’ written by scientists at Wageningen UR Food & Biobased Research, has now also been translated into English.
From a chemical perspective, virtually all the building blocks for plastics can be produced from renewable raw materials, but not every method is commercially viable. The processes are not yet efficient enough, the purity of the products is too low, or the raw materials are too expensive. This publication provides insight into which chemical building blocks are currently being made. It also shows which production methods established industrial and start-up companies are working on and how close or far away they are from the market at the present time (News Item Wageningen UR, 27 March 2013).
