According to a new report by Freedonia, worldwide demand for adhesives and sealants is forecast to grow 4.5% per annum through 2019 to 20.2 million metric tons, valued at $64 billion. Expanding manufacturing output is expected usage in applications such as packaging and tapes and labels.
China’s global dominance in several adhesive-intensive industries will bolster the country’s position as the top adhesives and sealants consumer through 2019. Suppliers of packaging adhesives will benefit from growing urban populations and improving disposable incomes, which will continue to boost demand for packaged consumer goods sold in supermarkets, online, and via other retail outlets.
