In a new report, Technavio’s market research analysts predict the global market for healthcare packaging to grow at a CAGR of over 6% during the forecast period 2016-2020.
In 2015, plastic bottles accounted for around 15% of the market and this is expected to grow at a steady rate during the forecast period. Plastic bottles are most commonly used for the packaging of pharmaceutical drugs and will remain the most widely used packaging type for oral medicines, which are distributed in huge amounts to pharmacy stores. Caps and closures accounted for around 11% of the market in 2015 and blister packages also accounted for around 11% (Persbericht Technavio, 10 oktober 2016).
