Zelfvoorzienende sensor voor zuurstofdetectie via RFID
Researchers at the Technische Universität Ilmenau in Germany developed a new system concept of self-sufficient oxygen sensors, which records oxygen contamination without external energy. Materials that safely react with oxygen were analysed. Unsaturated fatty acids, for example in linseed oil, have been proven to be suitable candidates. External energy is only needed during the read-out process of the sensor element. This allows for the integration in packages without batteries or energy harvesting. An RFID interface was developed which allows for the wireless read-out of the capacitance. An article about the research is published in the Journal of Sensors and Sensor Systems.
