DK: Meer gerecycled, minder verbrand van 2011 tot 2013
The Danish Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has published a report on Danish waste, disposal, recycling and incineration, focusing on trend data from 2011 through 2013.
Household recycling rates from 2011 through 2013 increased from 37% to 41%, and the overall recycling rate (adding commercial and industrial recycling) increased from 62% to 66%. Domestic waste sent to incinerators fell from 30% to 27%. However, the amount of waste imported for incineration (energy recovery) increased by 16,000 tons to 158,000 tons. Total waste production increased in Denmark over the two-year period, but the level of industrial waste held constant (Recycling Laws International, 28 september 2015).
