EU Parlement: Conceptrapport circulaire economie besproken

On April 13 and 14, the European Parliament’s Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety (ENVI) discussed a draft report prepared by Rapporteur Sirpa Pietikäinen on European Union resource efficiency and transitioning a circular economy. 28 recommendations are included in the draft report. Among the actions proposed that the European Commission take are reviewing the Ecodesign Directive and setting a binding target to increase resource efficiency at the EU level by 30% by 2030 and individual targets for each Member State. Eventually the final report likely will be presented to the Parliament in plenary session for a vote (Recycling Laws International, 17 april 2015).
