EU publieke raadpleging: Evaluatie Houtverordening

On 15 April 2015 the EC opened a public consultation on the evaluation of Regulation (EU) 995/2010 (the EU Timber Regulation; the EUTR) two years after its entry into application. The review will provide essential elements for the mandatory report to be submitted by the Commission by 3 December 2015 to the European Parliament and the Council. The objective of the EUTR is to fight the pervasive problem of illegal logging and associated trade through regulating the behaviour on the internal market of "operators" (those who first place timber products on the EU market) and "traders" (those further down the supply chain who do not qualify as "operators"). The consultation closes on 3 July 2015.
