Nieuws van de Europese verpakkingsnormalisatie

On February 4^th, 2015, NVC attended the annual plenary meeting in Paris of the CEN/TC261 committee addressing European packaging standards. Topics included (standards for) food hygiene, ease of opening, washing and cleaning powders, transport and environmental requirements.
In the field of environment, the development of EU ISO standards is foreseen to show compliance to the European essential requirements on packaging and packaging waste in conjunction with the global (ISO) standards now available as well. The scope of the ISO standards and CEN standards and their contents are essentially adequately overlapping to support the ‘unification’ of both into a EU ISO set of standards.
