Spaanse regelgeving heffingen op kunststof draagtasjes

In December 2017 a public consultation was launched on a draft decree to require retailers in Spain to place a minimum charge on single-use plastic carrier bags they provide to customers. The public consultation closed on 27 January and now the regulations have been finalized.
Beginning on 1 January 2018, retailers will be required to charge minimum fees for non-compostable plastic bags, compostable plastic bags, and some oxodegradable plastic bags. The amount of the fee is based on bag thickness. Oxodegradable plastic bags less than 50 microns will be prohibited. The regulations bring Spain into compliance with the EU Directive 2015/720 (Recycling Laws International, 28 februari 2017).
