In a new report Technavio has announced the top 5 leading vendors for the global flat pouches market. The top 5 vendors identified are Amcor, Bemis, Sealed Air, Sonoco and The Vacuum Pouch Company.
The rising demand for convenience and packaged food is the fundamental driving force behind the growth of the market during the forecast period. One of the key emerging trends is the increasing use of high-barrier flexible packaging products. Some of the high-barrier plastics used include biaxially-oriented polyethylene terephthalate (BOPET) and ethylene vinyl alcohol (EVOH). These pouches are being increasingly used by food and beverage companies (Persbericht Technavio, 3 oktober 2016).
