US: Uitbreiding statiegeldsysteem voorgesteld in Michigan
Michigan’s current container deposit scheme places a 10-cent deposit on soft drinks, carbonated and mineral water, beer, wine coolers, and cocktails in metal, glass, paper, or plastic containers less than 1 gallon in volume.
Under SB 0199, introduced in the Michigan Senate in March 2015 noncarbonated water and non-alcoholic carbonated or noncarbonated drinks (except for unflavored rice milk, unflavored soymilk, milk and dairy-derived products) would be added as deposit beverages. The bill also revises the legal definition of beverage container and makes a number of technical changes. If approved, the amendments would take effect on January 1, 2016 (State Recycling Laws Update, 24 maart 2015).
